I'm thinking of buying a new budget smartphone but got really confused between Sony Xperia XA and Samsung J7 prime. Both companies have reputation in their specific fields like Sony in camera and Samsung in performane. So can somebody tell me the pros and cons of these phones and which one should i buy?

If you want to choose between Xperia XA or Samsung J7 prime you have to know these points.

1. Xperia XA Display Resolution is 720 x 1280 pixels (~294 ppi pixel density) but Samsung has 1080 x 1920 pixels (~401 ppi pixel density).
2. Xperia XA has 16 GB ROM and 2 GB of RAM on the other hand Samsung comes with 16/32 GB ROM with 3 GB RAM.
3. Xperia XA doesn't have a Fingerprint sensor but Samsung J7 Prime have a frount mounted Fingerprint scanner.
4. Camera's of both phone are equal both front and rear.
5. Xperia XA comes with 2300 mAH battery while Samsung J7 Prime has 3300 mAH power.
6. The last point Price tag Xperia XA price is Rs 14,499 and Samsung J7 Prime is Rs 15,900.

So in my opinion you should go with Samsung J7 Prime because of its better display resolution, Internal memory, Ram, Better battery performance and most important quality its fingerprint sensor. Otherwise its all up to you where you want to invest your money.
