geforce 8600? No way!

Thats the stupidity of HP! They put in a Desktop card in laptop, which obviously overheats and kills the system.

GF8 series laptop card is 8400M GS.

i am going to use windows 7 after my laptop gets out of PROBLEM

my laptop was purchased in feb 2008 in USA by placing order to company directly . (through internet).

i have downloaded KNOPPIX .iso image file , i will burn it on CD or DVD and will check if it will run my laptop.

plz tell me if you need some other information.


Sir , u have not replied about how to make that utility running through pendrive . it shall help me to troubleshoot problem by making system to run for some hours.

That ISO can be burned to a CD.

Then Select appropriate option to boot off it.
Its not easy to do it with a pen drive.

but PLZ telll me how to make bootable pendrive

I am sorry, Converting the CD to bootable pen drive needs some Linuxx Skillz.
Editing the kernel, Bootstrap and all that.
Then you need to configure LILO to mount pendrive on Mount point as /ROOT and..and,,,,..oh!

BTW do one thing.
Get the latest version of Opensuse.
and 'Install' it onto any regular 16GB pen drive.

Unlike Microsoft, Liniuxes can be directly installed onto a pen drive and used off it. Very easy!

For simple explanation about 8600GT,
Its an Desktop card and being a powerful one, Generates a lot of heat.
Laptop heatsinks/fans are not that great to cool such loads and hence the system fails (overheats).

KNOPPIX has not changed the situation of my laptop
, and this KNOPPIX CD is working on other PC.

Hardware problem.

Replace TFT cable.
Replace Motherboard
Replace TFT
Replace laptop

my brother shall open it , now he will deal with it.

if motherboard is damaged , original will not be available here.
and i dont want to give my laptop in hand of HP man , for his claim of replacing it with compatible MB @INR7000.

actually he tried to STEEL one of my RAM also when i gave my laptop for diagnosis.
any way their utility is magical.I wish if i could make such.

would u like to give some routine procedure (tips) for troubleshooting in hardware for my product (other than replacing TFT and MB).

also if u can give some information about compatible MB available or one which can be arranged(by me) for my product.
