I was in Pune last week, the swine flu capital of India. What surprised me the most was people spitting here and there in open, sneezing and coughing without covering their mouth, throwing waste (like polythene, packets of food material, papers etc..) anywhere on the road. The city had just come out of the wrath of the deadly epidemic but the attitude of the people has not changed a bit.

Why are we such a filthy country? To fight the deadly disease people were urged not to sneeze, cough and pit in open, to keep the surrounding clean. We do not learn from the past experiences. If its Government duty to clean the roads daily so is it our duty, not to throw garbages anywhere on the road and ofcourse no question of spitting and sneezing in open air arise. Perhaps all these issues are very trival for us.

Leave Pune, what we do here in Mumbai? We boast of being A Class city of India, a Business class city with superb wide roads. then why should we border the roads with dirt and garbage? Is it moral duty of each and every one of us of not throwing garbages anywhere and not colouring the roads and walls by spitting. Is it not our moral duty to keep our surroundings clean.?

Of course yes untidy habits always invite diseases. always wash your hand before eating dont spit any where try to educate people about health & disease
