Indians do not learn from past - We divide ourselves again

    Advert.
India was the golden bird, when she was enslaved and looted for more than 500 years. Sometimes it was Arabs, sometimes it was British, they came and marred us. We fought them, fought them hard for they were outsiders. But what are we doing now? Dividing our nation once again, by ourselves?

Uttar Pradesh was divided into U.P. and Uttaranchal, Bihar was divided into Bihar and Jharkhand, M.P was divided into M.P and Chhatisgarh, and what is the outcome? Who is satisfied? Where is the growth, which was sung in and out by the politicians?

When Sardar Vallabhai Patel Invaded some of the states in the present Indian territory many of the people felt "What was the need for unification in India?". There were reasons because of which a strong need of unification of India was felt some of the reasons depended on the fore seeing of the future of the country some were patriotic whereas some of them were also feelings of oneness that had developed in the freedom struggle. In the period of 18th century there was a vast spread of the idea of nationalism these ideas also spread to India through the colonial rule. This lead Indian people to think they were all one-Indians. These feelings that of course developed in minority of the population then seemed to grow to majority. This mental reason was a cause for unification in India that gave a strong feeling of oneness among the people of India. Due to this unification became a need in India.
India had already learnt the strength of unity under the national leaders during its freedom struggle. Indian independence movement had actually emphasized on this type of unification. Unity had become a type of Patriotism in India and many people understood the jest of the unified Nation.

We had already paid a very heavy price for being divided in our beliefs in the form of Partition of India. In some ways, we are still paying it. Yet, do we simply not learn from our past? We still fight for Purvanchal and Telangana? How relevant are these so called ‘revolutions’ are to common man is well known.

Uttarakhand still has limited industries for economic growth, other than tourism. Prices have become sky rocketing and poverty has increased manifolds. One hardly gets to hear about any development taking place in Jharkhand or Chhatisgarh. The two states only come to fore during elections. Doesn’t this point at some scrupulous and scheming brains behind the curtains?

I wish, all of us Indians understand that this is what we are – India, a great nation, who has bled and bled because her people had divided her. Let us learn to respect our nation and its greatness, which comes from each state, each city and each village.

I really agree with you Nidhi, partition in states doesn't make any sense. making geographical changes in country will not provide progress to development. we want change !! change in our politician and change in ourself too.
