Toh Baat Pakki: Movie review

As seen in the trailers, the film Has Tabu as Rajeswari who is married and to Ayub Khan as Vinay and has two kids and her yonger sister Yuvika Choudhri as Nisha. Rajeshwari is worried about her sister and wants her to get married in a good Saxena Family and also does not believe in giving dowry. Always on the lookout for a perfect groom her eyes fall on Sharman Joshi as Rahul, who is an engineering student and has a scope of a bright future. Rahul doesn’t believe in getting married and so to change his mind Rajeshwari calls upon her sister whom anyone will fall for. When they do manage to fall in love, Bing!! Comes the entry of another boy, Vatsal Shet as Vishal who is a better candidate in every way. Rajeshwari starts to get him interested in her sister and get them both married. Who will get the bride is anyone’s guess.

The movie has Tabu after a gap of many years and as soon as she appears , she makes her presence felt, she has acted wonderfully and if you are a Tabu fan, you should watch this movie of hers. She has done a wonderful job, doing justice to her character. Also her comedy timing is too good.

The actors have done a fine job but the storytelling was not that crisp and there are a few holes here and there. Also some scenes are not at all convincing like Sharman helping Tabu with the marriage preparatins. Kedarh Shinde's direction holds your attention at a few places only but the poor script lets you down. Pritam’s music could have been better and some dialogues are very funny.

On the whole Toh baat Pakki can be seen once if you haven’t watched the other movies like MNIK. It could have been a pleasure if only the writing wouldn't be so sloppy.

OVERALL RATING: 2.5/5
