Microsoft and Reliance signed deal to serve IPTV service in India : A Discussion

    Advert.
Indian operator Reliance Communications and Microsoft have signed a USD 500 million contract to deliver IPTV services in India, which will be powered by the Microsoft Mediaroom IPTV software platform. Reliance Communications will have the exclusive deployment right for the platform in India. Reliance's IPTV service will allow it to deliver connected and personalised TV experiences with video on demand, digital video recording, instant channel changing, and personal media sharing. The service will be launched by March 2008.

This can be a turning point because IPTV is available in India from sometimes but still its not gaining any presence, may be this can popularise it.
