After giving audiences a glimpse of Bollywood’s darker side in “Luck By Chance”, director Zoya Akhtar has roped in brother Farhan again -- this time for a road movie.
“It’s got three boys. It’s set in Spain. It’s a road trip and it’s a coming-of-age genre,” Akhtar told reporters on the sidelines of the Osian’s-Cinefan Film Festival in New Delhi.
Akhtar said she had written one of the three roles for her brother Farhan, the protagonist in “Luck By Chance”.
The rest of the cast is yet to be finalized.
“I am just wrapping the script. He’s (Farhan) going to be working with me on the dialogues,” she said.
In her first film “Luck By Chance”, Akhtar used an insider's perspective to unmask Bollywood’s dark underbelly of power politics. The story of two struggling actors trying to earn a foothold in the film industry had cameo appearances by superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan.
Akhtar hails from a family of filmmakers and writers -- and the setting of her critically acclaimed debut film didn't come as a surprise.
But the 35-year-old filmmaker said her next project may not be as complex.
“It’s probably simpler on a level than ‘Luck By Chance’. It’s maybe feel good in that sense.”
