UP municipal election results once again revealed congress party's inability to win in the state. BJP has reasons to smile but should not forget that this was the only party (other than congress) that contested. SP and BSP did not dare to face urban voter within four months and congress does not have base in UP. This led to BJP victory without making any effort for the same.
With similar attitude at national level BJP can not think of winning election 2014. Leaders of BIP parliamentary party are capable of winning their own elections but their capacity to lead the party to the power is doubtful. The leader who can change the game in favor of BJP is not acceptable to many in central leadership.
Narendra Modi's raising popularity graph in urban middle class and upper caste and increasing support base is worrying many in political circles but for BJP it is a dilemma. If Modi comes to central politics hewill be capable to win party's lost support once again and lead BJP led NDA to power, on other hand he might cause troubles for NDA as some of its allies may leave NDA as is indicated by JDU.
There is long time for discussions but possibilities of Narendra Modi has shaken many in politics.
