World’s Longest Ropeway to Link Dehradun and Mussoorie in a Breathtaking Ride in just 15 minutes.
If you are planning to visit the scenic hill station of Mussoorie in Uttarakhand, you might soon have a new and exciting way to reach there. The state government has announced that it will build the world’s longest ropeway to connect Dehradun and Mussoorie, covering a distance of over 5.5 km in just 15 minutes.
The ropeway project is expected to boost tourism in the region, as it will offer a panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks and valleys. It will also reduce the traffic congestion and pollution on the winding roads that lead to Mussoorie. The ropeway will have a capacity of carrying 1000 passengers per hour, with 53 cabins that can accommodate 8 people each.
The ropeway will start from Purkal village in Dehradun and end at Library Chowk in Mussoorie. The project will be executed by a private-public partnership, with technical assistance from a French firm. The construction is likely to be completed in three years (by year 2026), according to the state officials.
The ropeway will be one of the five largest ropeways in the world, and the first of its kind in India. It will provide a safe and comfortable mode of transportation for tourists and locals alike, especially during the monsoon and winter seasons when the road conditions are not favourable.
The ropeway will also add another attraction to the already popular destination of Mussoorie, which is known for its natural beauty, colonial charm, and adventure activities. Mussoorie is visited by lakhs of tourists every year, who come to enjoy its pleasant climate, lush greenery, waterfalls, and heritage sites.
With the ropeway project, Dehradun and Mussoorie will soon be connected by the world’s longest aerial cable car, making the journey between them more convenient and enjoyable
