Maruti Suzuki has announced that that it will soon launch four new cars of different segments in the markets. Managing Director and CEO S. Nakanishi, said, "Our sales will drop in this fiscal compared to 2010-11. We lost about 1,00,000 units this fiscal due to strikes, and the slowdown has also impacted demand for certain vehicles." It should be noted that Maruti has witnessed a 40 percent dip in sales in the year 2011. The company is now determined to introduce new cars in the market so as to regain it's lost share.
The company strategy also includes launching upgraded version of it's Alto which will be more efficient in terms of fuel consumption and performance. The company higher officials has claimed Auto Expo will enable them to reach out to their prospective buyers and create a buzz in the markets as well. They have also added that decrease in sales was also due to many other factors such as increased interest rates, high inflation, ever increasing fuel prices and other similar factors.
The company is hopeful to regain it's lost share in markets by launching these new vehicles. It will be quite tough to regain it's lost share in markets as it is a highly competitive industry and everyday new models are being launched that in a way replace earlier models.
