Ford Motor Co. in an important decision has recalled about 5,39,000 vehicles in whole wide world in order to repair some serious flaws that can lead to fire and loss of power in some of their SUV's. The majority of this affected vehicles are in United States.
Ford is planning to recall 286,000 Ford Escape SUVs that were made in 2001 and 2002 and near about 253,000 Ford Freestar and minivans made in 2004 and 2005. The Ford's senior officials have said that a faulty brake master cylinder reservoir cap was installed in some SUV which could let brake fluid leak. In event of an electric shock this leaked brake fluid can lead to fire. While on other hand Ford and Mercury minivans was recalled due to a defective torque converter. If the converter malfunctions the vehicle could loose motive power and the car could loose ability to move forward and reverse.
The company has also issued a warning for it's customer "While the potential for fire is low, it is recommended that a customer park their vehicle outdoors away from structures until this recall repair is performed,"
