Omega 3 fatty acids are kind of fats which we need and are essential for various functions of the body. It is group of fat includes ALA, EPA and DHA. Common sources of animal omega–3 EPA and DHA fatty acids include fish oils, algal oil, egg oil, squid oils, krill oil and some plant oils contain the omega 3 ALA fatty acid such as seabuckthorn seed and berry oils, flaxseed oil, Sacha Inchi oil, Echium oil, and hemp oil.
However, there is one catch here though Human body needs them but they can't be produced inside human body and have to take them from external sources.
Also known as polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), omega-3 fatty acids play a crucial role in brain function, as well as normal growth and development. They have also become popular because they may reduce the risk of heart disease.
There are many clinical evidence that Omega 3 fatty acids helps in reducing cholesterol level in blood. They are also useful High Blood Pressure.
Omega-3s have a number of health benefits. Omega-3s are thought to play an important role in reducing inflammation throughout the body -- in the blood vessels, the joints, and elsewhere. However, omega-3 supplements (EPA/DHA) may cause the blood to thin and cause excess bleeding, particularly in people taking anticoagulant drugs.
They are also helpful in treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis, Asthma, ADHD, Alzheimer's disease and dementia. It is recommended to have sea-food included in your diet to get major part of Omega 3 acids requirement of your body. However, it is also available in form of supplement.
