Yamaha recently announced their BIKE RIDING robot, an humanoid robot, MotobotAt the recent Tokyo Motor Show where Motobot was unveiled, and the reason it was created was to simply “surpass you.” Presumably, that means piloting a 1000cc Yamaha R1M around a racetrack at over 200kmph, and beating MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi. Now that makes sense however, if you see video below, its is very primitive stage, currently it can only ride the bike, forget about maneuvers like tight corner at speed or a wheelie but still its very exciting to see it .
Hopefully some day, we will see it testing bikes at high speed for Yamaha, thus not risking lives of riders. Yamaha says that it hopes to use Motobot to develop "advanced rider safety and rider-support systems," similar to the technologies that car companies are beginning to implement. "R&D is currently underway with the goal of developing the robot to ride an unmodified motorcycle on a racetrack at more than 200 km/h [124 mph]."
