Just saw this news that BSNL has launched a truly unlimited 3G data plan for just Rs. 1099 per month.

To counter competitors, state-run BSNL has announced a national unlimited 3G mobile data plan for Rs 1,099 and doubled the data usage limit in some existing plans.

“Due to improvement in network, BSNL has been gaining customers. We are now first in the industry to offer unlimited 3G plan for Rs 1,099 without reduction in speed. This will rejoice our customers and help them experience improved BSNL networks,” BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava said.

To counter private telecom operators’ strategy of slashing data rates by up to 67 per cent, BSNL has doubled data usage in Rs 549 plan for 3G service to 10 GB from 5 GB.

“The plan has validity of 30 days and is equivalent to 100 per cent increase in data benefits to subscribers,” Shrivastava said.

So as we are discussing past, even though Reliance Jio is not yet launched but we are already seeing cheaper unlimited internet options around.

I don't see any news on official BSNL website but I think its a good move from BSNL. I remember being BSNL 3G next to useless in my area but again have not tested or used it from long. Now I am going to soon test it out and if its good then I am sure atleast for now this plan will be awesome.

But on the other hand, even if its network is good now, sooner or later it will get congested if more people started opt for this unlimited bandwagon. But who knows .. may be they have really improved their network .

Good.. I am facing trouble with my current ISP and unlimited 3G for Rs. 1099 will be good alternative for me. What is this plan .. is it postpaid or prepaid and how do I get it ?
