Ford Fusion is going to be phased out soon from India. There is not time limit defined but will be out of sales from India due to its poor sales performance.
Company said that it is still selling but not as expected and hence has taken decision to take it off from Indian market. However, since the launch of ford fusion, the car is not able to make any impressive results on chart. However, with good handling and quality still it did not manage to make any good sales. Call it fault of Ford to bring diesel model late in market or its pricing. The fusion was designed to give comfort of SUV in a hatchback but Indian market had not really liked the idea so finally company decided to phase it out from here.
Thing is to not that this year, Ford India had announced a capex of $500 million to double its assembly line capacity from 1 lakh units to 2 lakh units and to set up an engine manufacturing facility for 2.5 lakh units by 2010 in Chennai.
