General Motors India today launched the new variant of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA priced at Rs 5.10 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi), with the plans to sell about 1,000 cars a month.

'The earlier version use to do around 750-800 units a month ...but with this new variant, we are quite confident of pushing the sales figure to 1,000 units a month,' company Vice President (Corporate Affairs) P Balendran told reporters here.

The new car comes with additional features such as wider windscreen, driver airbag with anti-brake locking system, keyless entry with burglar alarm, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, split-folding rear seats, and deco moulding on the instrument panel and door trims.

GM India recently commenced production from its Talegaon facility in Maharashtara which is mainly dedicated to the small car segments.
