The ongoing Australian Series has proven to be a complete failure for Indian Cricket Team. Opening Partnership not working, old and weak middle order, defensive captaincy of Mr. Cool and shapeless bowling attack. These are quite a few reasons to name for the bad performance in Australia.
If i was to analyze the performance the team, here are some reasons which i feel contributed to the hefty loss.
Middle disorder: The Indian middle-order is suddenly looking very fragile and weak. Rahul Dravid has been clean bowled five times in the last ten Test innings, VVS Laxman has refused to move his feet on the pitch which makes him a easy target against pacers and needles to say that Sachin Tendulkar is under very huge pressure to get his 100th 100
Captain uncool?: His inability to attack on the evening of the fourth day in Melbourne set the wrong pace for India with Michael Hussey taking Australia to safety; the absurdity of his technique against quality attacks has left him further exposed; The biggest of setbacks came when his defensive mindset on Day Three in Sydney allowed Michael Clarke and his team to push India out of the game. Now banned for a game, Dhoni has enough time to look back and think.
Nobody to give support to Zaheer: Zaheer Khan perhaps is the only senior member of the squad who can return with his head held high. The left-arm pacer came up with some impressive spells in the first three Tests but found no support whatsoever at the other end. A young Umesh Yadav came closest but Vinay Kumar and relatively senior Ishant Sharma looked lost in the woods on tracks that had a lot to offer. Overall no one to build pressure with Zaheer
Manual gone wrong: The West Indies hurrah soon turned into despair in England and Australia and there's not he's been able to do about it, or so it seems. A 'very senior' coach has found himself stuck with 'very senior' players and the joke goes that it's become a mutual admiration society Down Under. Even the support staff led by bowling coach Eric Simons have been left sweating in the backdrop of India's dismal outings.
SO IS THIS THE RIGHT TIME TO TAKE SOME TOUGH DECISIONS FOR THE BENEFIT OF INDIAN CRICKET TEAM????
