The 23-year-old girl, who was gang-raped and brutally assaulted in a Delhi bus died early on Saturday morning in a hospital here.
The girl, was admitted to the well-known multi-organ transplant facility Mount Elizabeth Hospital from the past few days. And as per the reports from the Elizabeth Hospital on this thursday morning. She was in an extremely critical condition, and took her last breath at 4:45am (2:15am India time) as per the reports. She was earlier treated at the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi and from there she was recommended to Singapore.
Kelvin Loh, chief executive officer at Mount Elizabeth Hospital stated, "She had suffered “serious injuries to her body and brain".
Police in New Delhi are bracing for fresh protests amid calls for the death penalty for the six men accused of raping the woman and assaulting her with iron bars in the back of a moving bus on Dec 16. Ten subway stations and roads in central New Delhi are closed today, the Press Trust of India said.
