We are all aware of the fact that the CBSE Senior Secondary English Examination result for Class XII, Core, were as most people termed it Below Par. The CBSE comments that the English paper was based on their latest HOT Questions pattern, however, nobody asked them that what has HOT questions got to do with a subject, where the answers are open to the interpretation of the examiner. I mean this isn't Mathematics where if 2 plus 2 isn't equal to 4 , then your answer is incorrect. This is a subject where the examinee can bring in his perspective to the question.
However, every student who does not adhere to the CBSE blue print is sructinized by his examiners. I ask these honorable evaluaters why in a subject like English, do the answers have to match with your blueprint?
And what's all this nonsense about writing simple English? Why are we repetitively told to degrade our level of english in order to secure a higher grade in our Examinationss, just because the so called 'Stringent Government School Examiners' are rigid about using flowery vocabulary. For Goodness sake! We aren't competing with a bunch of 'yahoos', we are competing with global students for career determing and life altering prospects.
And why do these people have a sort of a personal vendetta against private school students? Its not are fault are level of English is much superior than most Government school students; then why shold we bear the brunt of a failed result, while students who can't even speak the language fluently come out with flying colours?
Looks like the glory no longer goes to the Brightest and the Strongest but rather the luckiest!!!!!!!!!
